Government:

The ACT Government provides information about dog control in the Canberra suburbs. The costs to register your dog are listed along with where you can safely exercise your dog in designated areas. Direct link to Domestic Animal Services where you can access information about lost, found and impounded animals.

ACT Sport & Recreation Services and ACT Department of Education &Training have provided much appreciated funding to BDOC. Over the years the funding through various grants has assisted the Club with major projects thus assisting in the maintenance and provision of a wide range of activities.

A.C.T. Government logo

The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) page provides valuable information for the import and export of animals, in particular dogs. This site may be useful for breeders.

National:

The Australian National Kennel Council site promotes responsible dog ownership and acts as the national spokeperson for all canine activities.

Charity:

The RSPCA site is always good to visit. The association provides a valuable service in promoting responsible pet ownership in the community. It also provides details on lost, found and impounded animals.

Dogs ACT (or ACTCA):

The Dogs ACT (a.k.a. ACT Canine Association) is the controlling body for dog sport in the ACT, and is the Territory representative of the Australian National Kennel Council. ACT dog clubs are affiliated with the ACTCA, and all dogs involved in obedience or agility trials must be registered with the Association.

Where to take your dog:

There are areas where you can exercise your dog off-lead. Click here to see the map. Cleaning up after your dog is mandatory even in areas where off-lead is permitted.
